[MC-183852] My singleplayer game has been switched to night vision mode (not by me)

Hi,

My Java singleplayer game has been switched to night vision. I did't even log out, I just paused the game using ESC, and upon returning found that nightvision was on. I am not a technical player, i dont' know how to turn cheats on, let alone nightvision.

If night vision is on (and if cheats are on) I might not be able to get advancements?

Can this be turned off?

Cheats don't prevent advancements in Java Edition. Only the Bedrock Edition does that.

Please provide more details, especially how you managed to get a permanent night vision potion effect. Please have your F3 screen open when taking screenshots.
