Developer Comment:

Gold nuggets will be picked up, but not admired (too small to distract the piglins)

So this is most likely intended.

Not sure why this was marked as WAI considering it was added in 1.16 pre-1.

It may be changed again in Pre-release 3.

This reminds me of gold nuggets being made of for example like iron or stone or even netherite

It even makes me think like wait, are Piglins blind or something?
