Doors stay open if redstone is unpowered as soon as it powers the door when toggling from a dot to a cross

Affects both wooden and iron doors. I was unable to recreate this with similar objects like trap doors, fence gates, etc.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Place a door and place redstone in front of the door.

  • Change the redstone dust to dot.

  • Place a redstone torch above the redstone dust on the door and switch the redstone dust to cross.

Expected result: After the redstone is unpowered, the door will close.

Actual Result: The door stays open even though the redstone is unpowered.

Update: effects all versions from 20w22a through 1.16-pre3.

Edit only lets me select latest snapshot and release so it isn't listed.

Still an issue in snapshot 20W51A

Still an issue in snapshot 21w03a

Can confirm in 1.17.1.

Can confirm in 21w40a.

I could not reproduce this issue in 1.21.1, however I could in the 24w33a with the experimental redstone datapack:

Can confirm in 1.21.3. The video posted by Jiingy does not have the redstone in dot form which is why they may not have been able to replicate it. Also, would like to request ownership to maintain the report.
