Unfortunately I didn't test this bug fully, but when I was standing under leaves (Dark Oak), and collecting XP (from villager trading), the rain would appear on the screen while collecting XP. I do not know if it works for transparent blocks like glass or slabs, but it is clearly an unintended bug. Fortunately it should be an easy fix!
