I was trying to get my farmer villager to master while holding my bow. Apparently, the bow draws back when I click on the villager. I tried it with different villagers, but it only happened with my carrot-trading villager. I also tried standing further back from villager, but it made no difference.

I was able to reproduce this without any issue with both shields and bow in singleplayer. And I spawned a new villager to reproduce this bug.

This also works if you can’t trade with the villager. I also sometimed failed to reproduce this, but I didn’t find out, when it happens.

Seems like it only happens if you tried to trade with the villager before it got the profession. So to reproduce:
Place a work station
Summon a villager
Right click it before it links to that workstation
Right click it while holding a biw

With the shield it seems to only work if it is on your offhand.
