Cats spawned with a spawn egg then tamed cannot be fed any kind of fish.

I was in a world with cheats enabled and I gave myself a Cat Spawn Egg. I tamed it and then I punched it by mistake, I tried to feed it some Fish to heal it but I could not do that. I tried reloging that did not work either.
