Getting Stuck in your farmland

What I expected to happen was...:
plant my crops and be able to walk out regularly.

What actually happened was...:
When I planted my crops (wheat seeds) I felt this strange pushing and it pushed me off the edge, as well as trap me inside my farm when I didn't even have a fence around it. It felt as if there were barrier blocks and the only I escaped was trampling your crops.
