The chest will open but when still browsing it's inventory the chest closing sound plays and when you exit it's inv the chests model lid is stuck open until you enter inventory again. Then upon exiting inv again the lid now is closed again, but having played neither the opening or closing sound that time around.

@Kumasasa Well I know of the stuck lid bug it's been present for a lot of versions going back, but I've never encountered it actually playing the closing lid sound when getting stuck. And even then the lid has remained stuck no matter how many times you open or close it after with that bug until server restart basically or the chunks getting unloaded. This here seems like something else entirely imo here the model lid closes again after entering chest again.
i have the same issue, but like to add some things. first, the sound and the animation happen to be at the same time, even if the chest close itself if it shouldn't. but after the bug occurs, the sound is ether not playing or later on, when the animation was played. second, the chest can still stand open when you close the inventory. the lid not always closes after open and close the chest again. to reproduce it you have to open and close a chest rapidly, about the 10th time or (mostly) earlier this bug will occur. i just checked this with the bigger chests, not with a single one. but, sadly, this bug happen every time i tried.
