basically just pushing a piston where a twisting vine was just deletes the vine sometimes (~80%) and same for weeping vines.

Hi there!
This is a duplicate of MC-174490, and it works as intended. According to the code of the game (you can see in the comments of the linked bug), weeping and twisting vines only drop 33 percent of the time.
