Skins won't show for me.

Whenever I launch the game in newer versions(1.15 and 1.16 specifically) I cannot see my skin or anyone else's skin in multiplayer. I have had this problem for around 2 weeks now. I thought it was just a 1.15 problem at the time as I have no issue with skins in 1.8.9. The issue I'm having happens in newer versions. I also checked bedrock edition and the same skins worked over there. Other players can see my skin but I cannot see it myself. I have also tried using a launcher called badlion to fix the issue, with no resolve.
