➕ create a super-flat world made of water
➕ go over the world and look down
➕ set the render distance to maximum
Observed results:
the rendering of the water is distorted.
especially the texture

At that height, you won't be able to see water anymore because it is no longer within render distance - that is intended, the render distance is not just horizontal, but vertical as well.
