Given the information you have provided, anyone who reads this will not be able to understand what the bug is caused by, what exactly the bug is, and/or how to reproduce the bug. If you give more information (or attach videos or screenshots), people will possibly be able to understand what is going on here. However, unfortunately, that currently is not the case.

I had this happen once when I lagged severely due to a weak WiFi signal.  It puzzled me at first, but I think it was an interaction due to wearing my elytra at the time.  I had it on for who knows how long and discovered that yesterday.

I had that to. Maybe it has to do with the elytra or switching between creative and survival.
