When I was playing Minecraft Java Edition, I placed down some carpet between my bookshelves and enchantment table. The carpets, for some reason, blocked the bookshelves from affecting the enchantment table. This isn't a huge issue, but it does affect decorating your house to its fullest extent.
P.S. I'm not completely sure if this also affects other version, but i'd prob check to see.
