Bastions and fortresses of the nether, appear underground

After going through thousands of blocks in creative, with tp and using the / locate, I have not found nether fortress generated as formerly with most of it exposed, most have a small area outside the rock, some are not even visible from the outside, the bastions are more or less the same, most of them appear in caves or very small areas where the shape of the basin is not appreciated, it is frustrating not to be able to find an exposed bastion as in snapchots
