Baby Piglins Dont Trade

I was bartering with piglins and noticed the babies held on to the gold in their hand and did the motion off throwing items but nothing dropped. when i killed them they dropped all the gold i gave them. i think the gold goes into their main hand like a weapon and it doesn't register that its a trade.
