Crafting book cannot be closed if it is shown above the inventory / doesn't fit next to the inventory

When activating the crafting book if there is not enough space for it, it will be shown on top of the normal inventory. However, it cannot be closed, it stays open even after closing and reopening the inventory. To disable the crafting book, you either need to change the GUI scale to something lower to be able to see the crafting book toggle button, select a recipe, or exit the game completely.
