[MC-194591] Connecting/unconnecting a redstone dot will cause it to become a cross, forgetting it was ever a dot

If you connect a redstone dot to another item or block, then break it, it will forget that it was a dot and will turn back into a cross.

This looks like a duplicate of MC-184625. If you aren't doing so already, make sure you do a quick search before posting a report. According to the linked report above, this feature has been marked by developers as "Works As Intended"; you should not expect it to be patched as a bug. You can suggest a change to that at https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us.
