Trying to Place Crimson Hyphae Blocks Cause Problems of Not Opening Chests

I was not able to place crimson hyphae. After trying to merely place it, I was not able to open chests. I then switched to place a stone or quartz block and was successful, and then was able to open chests and shulkers. This happens on an off. It seems if I then break a crimson hyphae with a hoe, it resets to everything working fine, until the next time. But it happens often and I'm not sure about the breaking it with a hoe being the all good cure. I started experiencing this yesterday, and since my floor is crimson hyphae, it happens over and over, causing a toggle type issue until I break the "right"" crimson hyphae, then I'm able to carry on.
