Sand can drop though a rapidly activating piston

I found when rapidly activating a piston with a block on top and sand on top of the normal block the sand will semi consistently fall through. I tried to make a fast clock to recreate it but was unable to but I would imagine if all the redstone were the same the same thing would happen. I have video here of the glitch taking place, and resetting the block and sand recreates the bug.
