Using non-numeric keys for the hotbar slot keybinds types key into search bar in Creative inventory instead of putting selected item into slot

when searching in the creative menu if you have custom hotkeys you are not able to quick hotkey them into your hotbar

however if you have the default numbered hotkeys you are able to when searching for items
