Nether portal rotates player when entry and exit portals are on a different axis

when going into portal from the West with player and cart (z axis portal)

we ended up facing different directions on other side (x axis portal)

How to reproduce

1. Build a nether portal on the X axis

2. Enter it
3. Break the newly created portal and build a new one on the Z axis
4. Enter it
5. Enter the overworld portal facing north
6. Upon arriving in the nether, back up, facing the same direction
→ ❌ You're now facing south
