Essentially the title. When you place a ladder on the block above a path block, it will not allow you to press W to walk at the ladder and go up the ladder. I believe this is because path blocks are slightly below 1 block height. If you jump, it will allow you to climb the ladder. It's not game-breaking, but it's a minor annoyance.
