Error Code Internal Exception: java.io.IOException

I'm Playing on a friend's Realm and periodically I will get kicked from the realm and it'll give me the error code "Internal Exception: java.io.IOException: An Existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" this has also happened on other realms I've joined, and I know that it's not on the other end because my friend's have told me they're not closing anything

Can you join non-Realms servers or do they give the same error message?

It's just Realms

I've tried going into my control panel and configuring my java security settings to enable the OS's restricted environment but that didnt do anything. I also tried to see if minecraft, mojang, or java were blocked through the windows defender firewall but none of them are on the list of apps that are blocked/unblocked by windows. I've tried restarting the game and my laptop. The one thing I haven't been able to try is restarting my wifi router to reestablish a connection but I havent been able to find a great time to do that as I live with other people and they need the wifi to do their jobs.
