Villager Texture Glitch

Playing a vanilla survival world, come along a village, and the villagers had NO heads! reloading the resource pack gave them the blank 3D head model, but still no texture. Save + quit and reloading resource pack again did not replace the textures. Kind of unnerving ngl. sorry for bad screenshot quality.
