Minecraft fails to observe MacOS Screentime restrictions

MacOS has a "Screentime" functionality to monitor and control users' use of individual programs based on time of day and elapsed daily usage. Screentime operates as expected on the MacOS Launcher program, but does not interact with the actual game running in Java. This results in a complete failure of Screentime functionality when it comes to Minecraft, as once the game is launched it will continue to run in Java.
