The Minecraft Launcher crashes everytime I press play.

The preparing bar loads and then crashes. Once I rejoin, there is a tab that says my game crashed every time. I have not been able to get it to work for a week now. I cannot get passed the first menu screen without it crashing after I try to press the play button.
