Items Disappear when Touching Cactus Block

Any items that land on the same space as a cactus block disappear completely. I first noticed this while growing and harvesting cactus in survival when I didn't collect the same amount of cactus blocks as I broke. I cofirmed this by throwing other items at the cactus, and watched them vanish.
