I was unaware of that feature, I guess I just never noticed it before. I'll just start breaking and replanting cactus instead, then.
The chest was actually intentional, but the rest of those are most likely bugs. I've been having some trouble with the paintings because I made the backside completely transparent, and now it displays as solid black. Hopefully it will be fixed in 1.15.1.
Update: I just got two back-to-back!
