I am making my own custom resource pack but as i tested it, it wouldn't appear. I thought it would be a problem with putting it from a different drive (from D: (my hard drive) to C: (My SSD with Windows on it) ) and i tried everything to make it work but i couldnt fix it. Today I wanted to put in another minecraft resource pack but it again, didnt work.

Resource packs have to be .zip files or just a plain folder.

I deleted the folder with all my resource packs to test the Mangopack that i changed to .zip file extension. It still didn't refresh, and it didn't show the resource pack.
Just renaming the file itself into a .zip file won't work, you will have to extract the files from the .rar and then compress it again into a .zip - otherwise, the game won't be able to read it.
To explain: Just renaming it doesn't change the way the files are compressed, and Minecraft can only read plain folders, or a .zip file format. Apparently (and I just learned that myself), programs like WinRAR do still read a renamed file correctly, so thanks for that lesson 🙂
Please attach the resource pack in question.
