I have cured two different zombie villagers so far, neither will take a profession. I will put a lectern down and he will have green plus signs come from him, but then he doesn't become a librarian. I click on him and he shakes his head as he has no profession. I have tried giving them both beds and rooms with doors, it still didn't work.

Are the villages by any chance nitwits? If so then nitwits cant have jobs (meaning that they are useless)
