Zombie Variants pick up and drop items really fast causing despawn timer to reset and eventually crash server

Zombies can pick up and drop items such as swords repeatedly with no cool down, resetting their despawn timer and eventually crashing the server due to entity lag. A way to recreate this is my taking a zombie and dropping 10 swords in front of it. The swords will be cycled. This becomes a lag farm when there is one say below a mob farm where swords are always getting dropped. Below is a video of this happening.

Fabric doesn’t change gameplay do you want a screenshot of it in a vanilla world?

Fabric is a very heavy game modification, any issue reported while using it is not valid on the bug tracker. If you can reproduce it in a world that wasn't opened in heavily modified versions of the game at all, please open a new report.
