Game crash

When trying to play an educational mode on minecraft, the game crashed within the first minute of playing (becoming laggy beforehand). Once loading the game back up, the stuff I originally collected from a chest was only partially remaining in my inventory (two items where remaining but the stuff being worn such as a helmet where gone). Once re-opening the chest that stuff was originally collected from, all items where in the chest even the items that where still left in my inventory.
