1.16.3 Stuck on Saving World Screen

I was playing on my survival world using the latest version of optifine and was flying back to my base to get resources and when I landed I was stuck in flying mode. So I tried a few different solutions such as going into a nether portal or taking my Elytra off but I could not teleport to the nether and when I took my Elytra off I was still in flying mode. At that point I decided to logout, and it has been stuck on the "Saving world" screen ever since. So then I decided to close Minecraft because this same thing had happened earlier, but when I tried closing Minecraft this time, nothing happened. So I ran Task Manager and tried force stopping Minecraft but Minecraft did not appear on Task Manager. So then I opened Minecraft again and tried to reopen the world and it said, "Locked by another running instance of Minecraft" on the "select world" screen. I do not know what else to do and I really don't want to shut the computer down out of fear of corrupting the world. Please help!

I ended up restarting the computer. This seems to have solved the problem temporarily and all progress was saved up until the last auto-save. If anyone else has a similar problem I would only use this as a last resort.

I just replicated the problem, it was even in the same general area that it happened before, I was flying to my base to pick some stuff up and hit the ground in flying mode then bounced up and got stuck in fly mode. Then I logged out and Minecraft is now stuck yet again on the "Saving world" screen and like before I cannot close out of the application.

Please provide a screenshot of your game with the F3 debug screen enabled.

Unfortunately I have not been able to replicate it again and even if I did I am not sure if it would do much good. Instead I have just stopped using optifine and the problem was solved. I think that chunk loading with optifine is messed up and I was flying into unloaded chunks because when I broke a flower the item would not drop. Thank you anyway.

If I do manage to replicate it though, I will try getting screenshots.

check if your fps is set to 0, make sure you change it to a higher number
