Inconsistency of hoppers when collecting items from lava cauldrons

sometimes hoppers can, and others times hoppers cannot pick up items before they get burned in a lava cauldron

IN THE VIDEO(short to keep under 10MB)
-started with a stack of tinted glass
-drops 4 glass
-hopper underneath the cauldron picks up 2 
-the other 2 glass burn

Intended behavior: Items get burned in lava cauldrons. 

This still happens in 1.21.4, further more, this seems to be consistent if the time between drops is slow, all of them will get picked up, if faster it seems to be somewhere between 40% to 60% chance of being picked up. Stack size is irrelevant, dropping an entire stack picks it up, dropping two very fast tend to cause the second one to be destroyed.

This is not a bug.
Hopper pick-up has no ray-tracing. Aka: If item moves from place A → B, then hopper ticks:
- Hopper will NOT pick up the item from any position in between A & B
- Hopper will DO pick up the item exclusively in its current position (B)

In the areas where “hoppers inconsistently fail to collect the items” the items simply doesn’t ever tick above the hopper.

This can be fixed by making the item entity move slower (<0.25b for X & Z to be specific)

Developers, please do not consider this, as it’s not a bug. Thank you
