Mipmapping is not adjusted while using the spyglass

When using the spyglass, the tops of blocks still look far away not loading their textures up close, but like this sheep the mob's texture do load up close.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a grass flatworld

  2. Get a spy glass

  3. Set render distance to something high (like 20)

  4. Use the spy glass on far away blocks

Expected Result:

The blocks would appear normally as they would when viewing them up close.

Observed Behavior:

The tops of the blocks appear blurry/"low fidelity" because of mipmapping.

Hey there!

Could you provide me with more information on what the issue is. I'm struggling to understand what the problem is. If so I'd greatly appreciate it.

I believe its an issue with mipmaps. Unrelated but for example MC-31896

Eh, I can confirm that I get the same visual effects, but I'm not sure if that's really an issue with the mipmapping or if it's just looking that weird because you're not used to looking at things from this perspective.

Can this still be reproduced in the latest 1.17 development snapshot?

Thank you for your report!

The issue is caused by looking at an oblique angle, not by the spyglass. It looks the same when you look from the same angle without spyglass and being close by.
