Armor dropped from piglins cannot be picked up

I was in the nether fighting a piglin. I got killed. when i returned to the nether to grab my items, the piglin had put on my gold and iron armor items. When I killed the piglin he dropped the armor. I was not able to pick up the items. They just sat floating on the ground with me standing over them, walking back and forth over them. there was no way to pick them up. This has happened multiple times. 

What I expected to happen was...:
I should have been able to pick up my armor

What actually happened was...:

It sat on the ground for 5 minutes then despawned.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. wear armor
2. go to nether
3. die to piglin

4. return to nether

5. kill piglin if they are wearing your armor

6. try to pick up armor. you can't.
