Armor protects you from freezing damage

I don't think tank armor is supposed to prevent you from freezing to death, is it?

How to reproduce:
1. Place some Powder Snow
2. Put on full Netherite armor
3. Go in Survival, and stay in the snow until you begin to take damage
4. Leave the snow, then take off your Netherite armor.
5. Get back in.
6. Notice the difference.

Hey there!

I don't believe this is an issue as the same idea applies with the poison and wither effect. Regardless of what armour you have equipped, you will take the same damage. For example, having poison effect active with no armour on and having it with full netherite armour deals the same damage.

Was there powder snow in 1.16.4?

yusufulus yes in the snapshot it was but 1.16.4 No Of course not this might be modded on 1.16.4 but also leather armour dosnt make you frostbite to death in it since leather armour now has a purpose now people can use it you only need 1 piece of leather armour to go in powdered snow

I'm confused, is armor protecting you from taking as much damage? If so, that sounds like a valid bug to me.

I just realized that when this happened, I had protection on my armor. You know, the Protection enchantment, which reduces ALL types of damage.
