When speedrunning, I typically place beds on top of the end fountain to kill the dragon quickly. But recently one of my friends wanted to speedrun with me so we got a realm and its on the newest version, 1.16.4 and the dragon destroys the bed if placed on top of the fountain. I went back to 1.16. 1,1.16.2 and 1.16.3 to see if it worked on those versions and it did. I tried searching through update notes on 1.16.4 to see if they changed it but theres no mention

@BlanketMC that doesnt do anything, the dragon just destroys the bed and the block. Once the dragon gets closer to the spire (where it lands when it perches) on the end fountain, it destroys the bed thats placed on the spire. Its not a big deal but I cant get one last quick bed hit in.
The ender dragon destroys most blocks (including beds) on contact. There are a few exceptions, including end stone and obsidian, but you need to right-click the bed before the dragon touches it to make it explode.
Yes, put a block next to the bed.
