When a player kills a mob in the #axolotl_tempted_hostiles tag that is attacking an axolotl or being attacked by an axolotl, the axolotl doesn't give the player Regeneration or remove Mining Fatigue.
This was listed on the changelog, but it was false.
EDIT BY REPORTER: Someone attached a data pack, use it to partially fix the bug.

I'd suggest not posting any comments on reports unless you have useful information to provide, regarding the issue. Making a general comment or statement without it actually being useful is unhelpful.
@unknown This was mentioned in the official changelog, so it's supposed to happen, but it doesn't:
When a player kills a mob that the axolotl was attacking or being attacked by, the axolotl will show its appreciation by granting the player temporary regeneration and removing any mining fatigue effects.

I confirm that also didn't make a function giving a regeneration effect for player (multiplayer also petting axolotl if you think) and removing mining fatigue for player (multiplayer; all player can be removed their mining fatigue effect, if you test with other players using mining fatigue in /effect give @a mining_fatigue whether the code using)
This also my axolotl's are not protecting me 😞
Confirmed on my own end while testing. Though on the snapshot page and the official wiki it says if the player kills a mob that was attacking the axolotl or the mob the axolotl attacked you'd get both regeneration and the removal of mining fatigue. Even killing the mob didn't work.
