Variant

All those tags are case sensitive, and should begin with a capital letter. If there is no capital, the game does not recognise the tag and summons and axolotl with default settings (variant 0).

in other words, for the game, V and v are 2 absolutely different symbols, so they're treated as 2 different tags, where "variant" doesn't exist at all, but "Variant" does.
