Unable to move camera due to cursor

I recently bought and downloaded the Linux version of Minecraft Java, quickly after starting up the game I realized there's a bug within some part of it

In minecraft I can only see my cursor while in the inventory or any menus, but when my cursor reaches the edge of the screen (or tab) it no longer allows me to turn around.
This is both hard to explain and a very annoying problem, as it restricts me from doing just about everything normally.
Even if I'm in full screen mode, whenever my cursor (where it would be if it was visible that is) whenever it reaches the edge of my screen my character freezes and it no longer allows me to turn.
I'm believing this is a glitch due to the fact that no one else seems to have a similar problem, and I sincerely hope the Linux version of Java wasn't designed this way, as it is very annoying.
