[MC-215747] half of a large wooden block building disappeared

I created a building that mostly consisted of wood. I was mining, and upon coming up from that mine (two short sessions with saving later) half the building was missing. Most of the wooden logs, planks, slabs and stairs from one half of the building simply vanished.

The building is around 156, 66, -250. The mining was around 136, 21, -233.

The building is at an intersection of 4 different chunks.

I've never seen anything like it.

I have backups before and after I can provide if useful.

it could of been lightning or something that caught the house on fire...

However, this issue is Invalid.

Your game, launcher or server is modified.
If you can reproduce the issue in a vanilla environment, please recreate the issue.

Any non-standard client/server/launcher build needs to be taken up with the appropriate team, not Mojang.
Any plugin issues need to be addressed to the creator of the plugin or resource pack.
If you have problems on large servers, such as The Hive and Hypixel, please contact them first as they run modified server software.

thanks Devin. I had no idea lightning could set fire to wood in the game - but that makes sense, and I did hear a thunderstorm while mining below. It all makes sense now! Wish I was there to see it happen.
