When I put a cauldron in Mountains on y=96 in the rain,the weather above this cauldron turned to snow,and if the cauldron removed,the snow was still existed.
In this picture,there was a cauldron there,and the weather turned to snow.

Are you sure that it didn't snow on that particular block even before placing down the cauldron?
