Spectating entities with shaders shows black screen

When the player in spectator mode tries to spectate entities such as Creeper, Enderman, Spider and Cave Spider, the custom shader doesn't work (black screen).

Disabling the shader with F4 works as normal and removes the black screen.

Spectating any other mob that does not have a shader works as normal.
