The bug
Spectating mobs that see differently than normal will make the screen black as if they were blind. It works properly with mobs that have normal vision.

Yeah, this is probably the same as MC-192290, assuming it was night at the time the screenshot was taken.
This is not MC-192290. I was able to reproduce this in 21w03a in full daylight. In contrast, the shaders render correctly in 1.16.5.
Here is a video:
Here is a manually triggered crash report (in 21w03a):
[media]In the video, I press F4 twice while viewing each mob to hide and then unhide the shader overlay.
@unknown, are you using macOS? This bug might be related to MC-204782 because both this report and MC-204782 are about types of rendering that used to work in the 1.16 versions but no longer work in the the 1.17 snapshots. MC-204782 seems to affect Macs that have Intel graphics cards, so perhaps this bug only affects Macs that have Intel graphics cards too.
Two of the duplicates of this report say that the reporters were using Windows 10 (MC-216859 in the environment field & MC-216249 in the crash report), so my theory that this bug might specifically affect Macs that have Intel graphics cards was wrong. Additionally, the crash report in MC-216249 says that the reporter was using a Radeon graphics card, so this bug is not specific to Intel graphics either.
Does anyone still experience this in the latest snapshot? I believe this report should be resolved as fixed.
What's your graphics card? Could you attach a screenshot with the F3 screen enabled?
