When running a redstone line on top of upside down stairs, a redstone torch attached to the back of it is not affected by the redstone line. I do not think this ever worked, but I think it should work.

I'm aware of the reason why it doesn't work. I'm saying that it should work though. This is similar to the other issue I created MC-217937
Redstone torches need the block they're on to be powered in order for them to deactivate. Transparent blocks cannot be powered as far as I know.

We're tracking this issue in MC-3311, so this ticket is being resolved and linked as a duplicate.

This only works with transparent blocks. Stairs are transparent. That is why it doesn't work.
