my launcher keeps crashing and says" Exit Code: -1" everytime

I paid for this Minecraft java edition on the site and I followed the downloading instructions  then it finally loaded and I click to press play the bar loads and then go's backward and disappears off the screen and pops back up saying this:

"The game crashed whilst initializing game
Error: java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
Exit Code: -1"   

it does this every single time haven't even played or go into it once and I don't know what to do I've tried to go and download it again and pressed repair does the same thing each time.

please help me I don't know what to do and I paid 26 dollars for this and its not even letting me on.
