I smelt iron ingot, but I didn't get advancement. I got advancement after I move it in my inventory. When i craft a pickaxe, I got that advancement after I use it.

It's works as intended. There's no way for the game to detect who actually smelted iron, until it's in your inventory. And the second, it's an advancement for getting stone so of course you only get it after using it.
