Fishing rod bobber is invisible/missing

When I cast a fishing rod, no bobber or line appears in the water. After casting, the fishing rod just returns to the being carried visual.

Everything seems to function normally; fish are lured, bubbles appear, and I'm able to catch fish, just no way to visually confirm that the line is cast or when a fish strikes.
