The cake item texture is missing a red dot leading to to have 7 dots instead of 8. The red dot on the bottom left side of the cake is missing.

The item texture doesn't always have to match the block texture

Yet simular reports were considered valid

I was able to confirm for 1.16.5 make sure though in the future you reports description is more expanded than just 7=/=8. I've updated it here for you.
